I’m Yifei Chen, an international student from Nanning, Guangxi, China; and I’m studying commerce at Dawson. I came to Canada in 2016 and start my new student life in Montreal. I’ve travelled to 13 countries, Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania and North America. Years ago I had an idea to study aboard, but Canada was’t my first choice. To me, Canada is a cold and far country, but my city never snows in the winter, it’s in the subtropical area. But unexpectedly, I came to Montreal, because of its special bilingual environment, I thought that maybe I can learn a new language. However, Canadian French is way different from what I thought, and it’s too difficult for me. But I like this city, because I developed my new hobbies, playing the clarinet and listening to the classical music. My favorite place in Montreal is Place des arts, because there are amazing concerts performed by OSM and OM.
